I don't believe we were made to handle death. We were made for life. We were not made for grief but for joy. Not for loneliness, but covenant. Not for corruption but for increasing glory to glory.
Glory is in life, in faithfulness, in relationships, in identity and confidence, in love and joy. In a thing well made. Oceans. Music. Order. We shall see the redemption of reason and imagination, of the arts and of gender. There is great glory in the redemption of families, in unity within the Church, in beauty and in mystery.
That is what we were made for. Death has no power over such things that we do not allow it to have.
As for this past week (which lasted about a month): Victory is being seen, clearly, definitely. I will write a report up about it on my blog this week sometime. The man who was with J on the motorcycle could not speak of it for a few days. He was too emotional, in shock. When he finally did, the man in the next bed over in the hospital room gave his life to Jesus. So many stories like that. I'm too drained right now to write it all down though.
ReplyDeleteBut it's been good. Our youth are bonding very closely. They are gaining a depth of character and faith that is rare in teens. God will use it. Jeremiah's sold out faith and then his death was a catalyst to lots of victories happening...things that don't happen except through trials.
Death has no victory. =) Praise God....
