Glory

Habakuk 2:14 says, "the earth will be filled of the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea." The word in Hebrew for knowledge here is the same word that was used in Genesis when it says Adam knew Eve. It is yada, an experiential knowledge.

It is this glory that we are filled with, that we carry, that we get to reveal to the earth.

The unexpected thing about glory is that it is so daily. It doesn't appear in ways we expect it to. It is found in who we are, we are the expression of God. We have been given freedom, that looks like confidence and authority, not fear and insecurity. It looks like grace, taking the ashes of the past outside the camp (the ritual of the priests in Israel) or not keeping the past continually before our eyes, for you become what you focus on.

We are to honor one another, and that looks like recognizing the glory in one another. By doing this we grow from glory to glory. We actually grow in what we carry when we recognize what beauty and grace God put in others.

There is glory in serving, in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, self control (talk about daily, how about hour to hour haha), in position (being who you are called to be just where you are), in paying off debts, in organization, and in relationships (I love relationships, the family of the Church!)

The earth will experience the Glory of the Lord through us! So good.

Some good thoughts from class last night :)
